Blu-ray Disc is a good format for video enthusiasts looking for picture and sound quality, and there's no shortage of devices that work with the format straight out of the box. But the Mac isn't one of them. So how can you get Blu-ray Discs to play back on the Mac? Read on for details.
Steve Jobs famously called Blu-ray 'a bag of hurt,' suggesting Apple would take a wait and see approach on back in 2008. Apple sat on the fences for a long time and ultimately decided its Macs didn't need any optical storage at all, getting rid of internal DVD 'SuperDrives' altogether (unless you count the lowly 13-inch standard MacBook Pro, still part of the product line but not updated since 2012). Apple continues to offer the SuperDrive as an external option, but it's limited to CDs and DVDs.
That doesn't mean the Mac can't play Blu-ray Discs. You'll just need a little help doing it.
Get a Blu-ray drive
The first thing you need is a Blu-ray Disc player. There are plenty of them available, and they'll work with the Macintosh without any problem, using the Mac's USB port. What's more, they're all burners, so you'll be able to burn Blu-ray Disc archives of your own (as well as CDs and DVDs), and they all work fairly quickly.

Get Blu-ray software
Getting the drive is only half the battle, though. You'll also need software to watch your Blu-ray movies. Apple doesn't include drivers to decrypt that information, since Blu-ray isn't included on the Mac. Fortunately, there are several third-party apps on the market to help you along.
Aiseesoft's Blu-Ray Player, Aurora's Blu Ray Player for Mac and Macgo's Mac Blu-Ray Player are all available for trial download. They all let you watch Blu-ray movies on your Mac, and do more too, including reading data from Blu-ray ISO images and watching other movies on your Mac.
If you're interested in getting the most out of your Blu-ray Disc drive as an archival storage device — after all, you can cram up to 50 GB onto a single dual-layer BD-R disc — make sure to look at Roxio's Toast 12 Titanium, which offers Blu-ray authoring capabilities among its many other features.

Any questions?
With the right software and hardware in place, you can turn your Mac into a powerful Blu-ray Disc system. It just takes a little self-reliance and some extra hardware and software to make happen. If you run into any road bumps or have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

1080P HD video has become the past, now the era of 4K has arrived. However, not all computers can support the smooth playback of 4K video, not all players can perfectly play 4K video. There are altogether two methods to play 4K ultra high definition videos on Mac.
Preparations you need to do:
Mac OS X 10.8 -10.14
Intel Core i5 or above
Internal or external Blu-ray drive
https://renewplum237.weebly.com/blog/macos-app-icon-guidelines. To watch this particular format, people has found out a simple and cost-effective solution - convert 4K videos. The advantages of converting 4K videos are obvious, such as saving considerable storage space, converting them to almost any video format for free playback better compatible with popular devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.), media players, and video editing software. However, one major problem is that this method could result in the damage of the original video and audio as well as lowering its pixels.
Abandoned. Is there any way to develop a new browser for OS 9 (like TenFourFox) or something similar? Many people still use the Classic OS, so a good browser should be available for them to use, right?Another stupid idea, maybe, but if possible it would be well worth it to put in some hard work to make an up to date browser for OS 9/early versions of OS X. No security updates, nothing. Can you provide me with step-by-step instructions has to how to get my scanner functioning with Nikon Scan under Tiger?Nikon Coolscan III connected via Adaptec 2930CU SCSI card. https://evernurse839.weebly.com/blog/new-os-for-mac. Nikon Scan 3.x is OS 9 native(4.x is carbon, but drops SCSI support). So far, it has defeated me on accessing the SCSI card through Classic. While we're at it, do you want to come to my work and try to get the NMR we have running on OS 9 going under Classic? Nikon Scan version 3.x is required for SCSI based Nikon scanners.
Solution 2: Choose a Media Player that supports 4K Videos
Although 4K videos are being distributed more than ever as it becomes more widely and easily available to people, there is still few media players currently on the market that can support 4K resolution.
Step 1. Find the Right Mac
In Apple's official website, you can find that there’s only one Mac can support 4K videos’ playback - iMac 27-inch with Retina 5K display. It has four times as many pixels (14.7 million pixels) as the standard 27-inch iMac display, and 4K resolution only has 8.8 million pixels. Therefore, with its latest OS - Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10, this Mac can totally play 4K video to let users see everything on their desktops with stunning clarity.
Step 2. Use the Right 4K Player
Perform an Internet search for '4K video Player' to obtain a list of apps capable of playing 4K Video. Which 4K Video Player you choose will depend largely on your budget. Although some freeware apps available claimed that they can do whatever the commercial apps can, it’s been proved by a lot of people that the proprietary, commercial apps available will almost invariably be the most effective. Here is a recommended excellent player that can play 4K Videos perfectly - Macgo Mac Blu-ray Player Pro.
